If you could be a part of any birthday celebration this weekend, who’s would it be? How about one of the most loved Peanuts characters, Snoopy! Yes, Snoopy is turning 60 and your family can be part of the celebration at Dorney Park in South Whitehall Township. Sing happy birthday to Snoopy from 1-2 pm on Sunday in the park’s Camp Snoopy, and watch as he unwraps a giant gift! Park officials say that the gift is an $8 million dollar surprise, maybe another ride or an expansion to the park!
60 years ago, Charles M. Schulz created Snoopy and the Peanuts gang to entertain children of all ages. The gang became a part of Dorney Park in 2000 with the opening of Camp Snoopy, a family playland centered around the Peanuts characters. If 9 cleverly themed rides for kids, fun entertainment, and things for parents too weren’t enough, last year Snoopy took to the ice with a new show that runs daily!
In addition to Snoopy’s birthday celebration from 1-2 pm on Sunday, Dorney Park offers many other activities and ways for children to have a blast! The Tot Spot, located in the park between the Zephyr railroad crossing and the Laser Roller Coaster, features 8 rides for children. Wildwater Kingdom for Kids is sure to be a hit with any child and Dorney Park even offers specially chosen food choices for children!
Musikfest isn’t the only thing happening in The Lehigh Valley this weekend! Visit Dorney Park for Snoopy’s birthday celebration and find out what the $8 Million surprise is!

Now I know why I grew up with Snoopy… he’s only a year older than me! Can’t make it to his party Sunday – we have a tennis match at Oakmont that afternoon… save me some cake!
