LinkedInFacebook

The largest one-day fundraiser for a dog park in the Lehigh Valley is being planned and just wait until you see what kind of fun and entertainment awaits!  This dog park festival, otherwise known as Barkfest, is scheduled for September 8, 2012 from noon until 8:00pm at Cedar Creek Parkway.

The Friends of the Allentown Parks and SimpleHands / Procure Consultants, the hosts of Barkfest, are partnering with the City of Allentown’s Parks and Recreation Department and anticipate that several thousand people will show up to support and take part in this day of fundraising.  There will also be an opportunity for Food and Beverage vendors to sell their products!

Highlights of Barkfest

  • Hot air balloon rides
  • contests
  • parades
  • music from live bands
  • pet competitions
  • silent auctions
  • special guests including known authors
  • upwards of 200 vendors including rescues
  • other types of various entertainment

In order for this event to be as successful as planned for, there are a few things the organizers are looking for – sponsors, vendors, donations for the raffle table, program ads and volunteers.

Bring your family, friends, and of course your dogs to Barkfest to support and help raise funds for a dog park!  This event promises to be fun for people of all ages and makes for a great way to spend a day in the Lehigh Valley.

Cedar Creek Parkway is located at Ott and Linden streets (near the Rose Garden) in Allentown.  For more information about this event or how you can participate, contact Kevin Cope: kevin@simplehands-procure.com.
